RIFT/GAP/HINGE
Heinrich Dunst

Rift/Gap/Hinge A was a widely acclaimed exhibition held at Galerie nächst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzwälder in Vienna at the turn of the year 2006-2007 with the artist Heinrich Dunst as curator.

Dunst compiled relevant works from the Austrian and international contexts in which the antagonism between the medium and the sign and "the visible and the sayable" is brought to a zenith. This approach also enabled him to establish enlightening links between Fine Art, film and literature. The transferral of these exponents into the book inevitably ends their identity, which is based on the interface of their media, by effectively framing the works with a different medium.

With works by John Baldessari, Konrad Bayer, Marcel Broodthaers, Rafal Bujnowski, Ernst Caramelle, Clegg & Guttmann, Heinrich Dunst, Rainer Ganahl, Nikolaus Gansterer, Louise Lawler, Achim Lengerer, Ján Mančuška, Christian Marclay, Michael S. Riedel, Ferdinand Schmatz, Peter Tscherkassky, Joëlle Tuerlinckx, Rémy Zaugg.
