Dieter Roth: Books & Multiples
Dieter Roth

The third volume based on the collection of the Dieter Roth Foundation, this catalogue raisonné begins with an essay by Thomas Kellein that deals with Roth’s idea of permanent destruction as a creative tool. Dirk Dobke writes about Roth’s multiples, many made in small limited editions using perishable materials. The chapter on design has a text by Bernadette Walter that discusses Roth’s jewelry, vases, glasses, and furniture designs. Another chapter deals with Roth’s self designed exhibition posters, another with his films and videos, still another with his musical production from the mid-seventies on. The largest and most important chapter treats Dieter Roth’s books. There are more than 200 titles and editions catalogued and discussed in essays by Stefan Ripplinger and Dirk Dobke.
