Arte Essenziale
Multiple Authors

The volume, which accompanies the exhibition of the same name, presents the work of eight artists – almost all of them contemporaries – who, in the contemporary art scene of the last ten years, have traced a common poetic line, although without giving rise to the creation of a group.

A theoretical text by Federico Ferrari accompanies and underlines the eight chapters dedicated to the participating artists, each of whom has decided how to present their work, their research, and has produced a personal statement of adherence to the project. Karla Black (1972), Gianni Caravaggio (1968), Ian Kiaer (1971), Thea Djordjadze (1971), Helen Mirra (1970), Alice Cattaneo (1976), Francesco Gennari (1973), Jason Dodge (1969) are interpreters of an art in search of its essence, an art that – freed from all the neo-, post-, and trans- of postmodernism – feels the need to address the question of the beginning, of creation, or rather, of art tout court.
